I am Brazilian and moved to Australia for a scholarship when I was 19. It was a dream come true, however a very challenging experience. Learning a new language, missing my family and friends and studying at an international university caused a roller coaster of emotions. The accessibility to alcohol and processed food also played a role in how I was feeling, and very quickly I developed habits which were really affecting my overall health.
I was putting on weight quickly, having constant mood swings and skin flare ups. I needed to address them, but I had no idea where to start, what to avoid, what to take and which information was safe.
I had grown up eating bread, dairy, homemade desserts and cakes, so it was hard to imagine my life without those foods. I didn’t know how to cook either, since my mum had always cooked for me. Ideally, changing eating habits should involve very basic kitchen skills.
Thankfully I discovered LTLA as young woman in my early 20s and it was the best thing that could have happened to me. I have learned how to cook simple and healthy meals, how to read food labels and how to maintain my digestive health and wellbeing.
Additionally, it was very special for me to be able to help my own mother lose weight & improve her well-being. This changed my family’s life completely.
I’ve learnt so much about food, what works for my body and how simple, clean food and nutrition makes me feel. Now I just love to share that knowledge to help others.
Not only did I turn my health around, I also found my passion & purpose, which has led me to become a LTLA Trained Mentor. I now teach others how to quickly & safely lose weight, regain their health and live happier, more fulfilled lives.
